The Garden

If you like romantic gardens, you'll love this one!

It extends to about 2 ½ acres and is bounded mostly by water. The river Frome forms a long boundary until it meets up with the old mill leet, an antique watercourse which used to carry the water back to the river in the days when there was a water mill here on this spot.

There's a good half acre lawn close to the house, and then a more natural area with an orchard, and many different trees and wild flowers and lots of walks and paths to explore. There's also plenty of wildlife to be seen, including hedgehogs, rabbits, badgers, frogs and toads, newts including the greater crested newt, the occasional fox too! And many varieties of birds including green woodpeckers, song thrushes, blackbirds, wrens, robins and sometimes you may be lucky and see a kingfisher by the river
